The only solution I know of concerning the tank-problem, is to go to a salvage yard and look for a Suzuki GR 650 tank. It fits with minor modifications. BUT -then you run into other troubles : There is no speedo in this tank, so you have to solve the speedo problem.. you also have to get another seat, since the GR tank is longer than the original.
The only mistake Suzuki made with this bike is the small tank and no trip-meter. Oh, yes and the uncomfortable seat. But the bike is great !
